About the event
Engine Ventures, a venture fund that was spun out from MIT, will lead a breakfast presentation and roundtable discussion for local faculty members on forming a Tough Tech spin-out.
Members of Engine Ventures investment team will provide insights and case studies to help faculty members navigate the process of translating academic research out of their labs into Tough Tech startups. This will include a perspective on what can be done within research groups prior to spinning out and the range of roles for faculty once launched.
The roundtable discussion will give an open forum to tackle some of the most common faculty questions, learn from seasoned entrepreneurs about their journey, as well as provide the opportunity to network with like-minded local academics across the local ecosystem.
