About the event
*Note, this event is only open to the TechGeneration Cohort. Registration is closed.
Through an interactive keynote and facilitated small-group discussions, interns will gain an inside look at how ideas move from research labs into real-world products that impact people’s lives. In addition to sharing his own academic and professional journey in technology and robotics, Professor Walsh will explore how cutting-edge research is translated into market-ready technologies and products and discuss key partners and collaborators—industry, academia, investors, and end users—who are essential to successful innovation and commercialization.
Following the talk, participants will break into small groups for facilitated dinner conversations led by venture founders from the Harvard Innovation Labs. Each group will focus on different career path journeys within tech—such as research, product development, startups, or industry roles— and provide interns with the opportunity to understand what different career path and day to day experiences look like. Interns will have the opportunity to ask questions, compare experiences on their own internship placements, and gain practical insight into what various career trajectories in technology and innovation can look like.
